- JDE Meets Machine Learning: The Citizen Data Scientist
Tue. August 21| 4:30 PM – 5:30 PM | Director’s Row E
Predictive analytics has been the purview of a few highly-skilled and highly-paid data scientists, working with highly-specialized and expensive software tools. This is where Artificial Intelligence (AI) comes into its own. Modern business analytics tools, such as Microsoft® Power BI and its built-in AI capabilities, combined with the adaptive intelligence of cloud-based machine learning environments such as Oracle Analytics Cloud, are empowering business users to gain insights into the future of the business through sophisticated predictive algorithms at a fraction of the cost of traditional data science platforms. What is emerging is a new role that Gartner refers to as the “Citizen Data Scientist.” In this fascinating glimpse into the future of business analytics, Adam Crigger, Founder & President of Preferred Strategies, will describe some of the insights that can be gained from a common JD Edwards infrastructure with modern business intelligence toolsets.
- Clif Bar Reinvents Self-Service Analytics in JDE with Preferred Strategies
Wed. August 22| 11:15 AM – 12:15 PM | Governor’s Square 9
Clif Bar & Company crafts nutritious and organic food to feed and inspire adventure, including its flagship CLIF BAR® energy bar. JD Edwards has been in use at Clif Bar since the early ‘90s. As the organization has expanded and evolved, introducing self-manufacturing and European distribution operations, so too have the demands for faster and more sophisticated reporting and analytics. This presentation will explore how Clif Bar has evolved in its use of reporting technology over the years, from Excel to PowerPivot, to tabular models and SSRS and Power BI, to introduce a modern self-service analytics environment for business users. The evolution continues with plans to pilot AI to scale financial analysis, and predictive analytics to optimize sales promotions —all while staying true to the Clif Bar mission of sustaining its people, brands, business, community and the planet.
See you in Denver!
